Destinations

In this gallery, you will see images that rightly belong elsewhere, as well.  However, because it is frequently easier to browse images of a common thread, this gallery allows you to view a collection of images from a common geographic location.  Where appropriate, these images will also appear in other galleries.

Two of the things I enjoy most are travel and photography.  There is a natural marriage between these two.  I suppose this helps to explain why I love both equally. I never travel without as much photographic equipment as I can reasonably pack.  This allows me the freedom to shoot when and where I choose in almost any situation.  In these galleries are images I have grabbed in a quick side trip as well as those that I've traveled thousands of miles to capture. 

In Alaska, I have made many trips in pursuit of my marine design business.  While there, I can't resist an opportunity to "steal a day" from those endeavors to see sights that I might otherwise have bypassed, including glaciers, mountains the likes of which you would see nowhere else in the United States, Fjords comparable to those of Norway and wildlife that only lives in Alaska.

 Florida is a place like no other in the country, from the alligator-infested Everglades to the funky Key West to the Art Deco hotels of Miami's South Beach.  No one should should ever visit this state without a camera.

My home state of Washington offers so many stunning vistas that it would be hard to pick one as most representative.  Perhaps its most famous landmarks are the Space Needle, remnant of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair and Mount Rainier, as old as time, itself.  No matter what your tastes, there are many photo ops in Washington. 

Be sure to visit the Olympic National Forest on the Olympic Peninsula, Mount Baker near the Canadian Border, the tulip and daffodil fields of the Skagit Valley, Seattle's Pike Place Market, The state capitol in Olympia, Mount Rainier National Forest, Mount St. Helens National Monument and Gray's Harbor area, where there are many picturesque lighthouses.  If rolling wheat fields are your thing, don't miss the Palouse in Eastern Washington.
